How Colors Came To Be |
|
A long time ago when there was only one tribe of Indians, no color existed. The Indians didn't even know what colors were until one day when they found a charming tree. This tree had charming colors of green, red, brown, yellow, and many other colors. The Indians were a little afraid, but once Majo, the poor little Indian boy, started climbing the tree, the Indians were convinced that everything was fine. Then, the Indian gardeners came out and began taking parts off parts of the color tree so they could replant more trees. When they started to plant, the new trees didn't grow right away like the rest of the black and white trees did. The Indians were very disappointed and they gradually decided not to plant the beautiful colored tree. There was one Indian boy who didn't give up. It was Majo, the boy who had climbed the first color tree. He did not give up because he knew the color tree would eventually grow. A week later, when Majo was walking out to water his color plant, it had sprouted a foot. He was so excited that it had grown that he screamed and woke everybody up. All of the villagers came out of their teepees and were a little angry, but once they saw the color tree had grown, they weren't mad anymore. They had a big party that night; everyone was dancing and having a great time. The Indians and the little boy, Majo, started reproducing the color plant. Soon, they realized that there was a fruit on the tree. Majo tasted the fruit and said that it tasted like something he couldn't explain. It didn't taste like buffalo or deer, but all he knew was that it tasted great. The rest of the Indians tried the fruit as well and they, too, couldn't tell what it tasted like, but also liked it. Then, the next day when the Indians woke up, they felt very cheerful, but as soon as they walked out of their teepees, they all screamed when they saw each other because they were afraid. All their bodies were colorful! All the Indians panicked not knowing what to do, all except for Majo. Majo was very excited to be colorful. The only thing he didn't like was that his clothes, and everyone else's clothes weren't colorful at all. Their clothes were still a boring black and white. Majo had to do something about it. So he asked the Indian women to make some clothes out of the color tree. The women made perfect colorful clothes for the Indians to wear. After the clothes were finished, Majo asked the people of the village if they wanted the men to make colorful teepees. All of the villagers were excited to have colorful teepees so the men got started right away. When the men were finished making the colorful teepees, all of the Indian families moved into the new colorful teepees. Pretty soon, color had spread almost everywhere. There was just one problem: the animals had no color. Everyone had to pull together and help on this one. They would have to somehow feed all the animals the colorful fruit. Everyone started throwing the fruit everywhere and giving their own pets the fruit soon all of the animals ate the fruit and were colorful. Now that everything was colorful, it was a much happier world. That is how color came to be. The End |
