How Geckos Got Their Color

A long time ago, the only piece of land in the whole world was an island, and the only animals on the island were white geckos. The geckos hated the color white.

One gecko named Tooki decided that he wanted to sail to the sunset so he could get color. All the other geckos thought it was a good idea, so they made a boat. Their boat was shaped like a banana. It was curled at one side with strong wood on the top from the trees on the island, and it had a little door made out of coconut.

When the boat was finished, all the geckos started sailing tothe sunset. As they continued to sail, it became darker and the sea became calmer. Then on their way to the sunset, a giant dark, black bear with red gleaming eyes, and as big as 1oo elephants, almost killed them by chomping at them with its jaws that were in his paws. The reason why he did this is because he didn't want them to get to the sunset because he wanted to get color. They escaped the teddy bear by snapping the curl of the ship on his arm and banging him into a rock.

Then, the geckos felt their ship bounce and start to sink. The ship began to fill with water .The geckos escaped through the little coconut door into the sea.

As they were swimming, they felt sharp teeth slashing at them. Then they figured out they had been swallowed whole by the angry sea god. The next morning, the geckos found themselves inside bubbles that were attached to veins inside the angry sea god's stomach. The geckos wiggled, and the bubbles broke off the veins and floated through the sea god's nostrils. Then each in its own bubble went off into the sunset. Once they reached the sunset, the bubbles splattered.

Then they saw the fat sunset god .He was sitting in a big piece of bamboo. The bamboo had melted sun in it. "Hi Sunset God,'' said the geckos.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?" said the sunset god. The sound of the sunset god was so loud that they fell in a hole on the side of the sunset and ended up in a colorful room with bright and colorful steps. When they got to the top of the steps, a blast of color came out of the step and hit all of the geckos. The blast of color made pieces of land all over the big blue ball that we now call earth, and the geckos were no longer white, but all the colors of the sunset.
