How land Was Created |
|
In the beginning, the earth had only water. In spite of this, the gods still created animals. Since there was no land, all the animals drowned. After the animals drowned, they all piled up until their bodies were protruding out of the water. Meanwhile, the gods were having a grave conversation. A young god asked an older god, "Why are we killing all of the animals?" The older god said, "We're not. This is a great sacrifice. We have chosen these sacred animals to serve as an enduring base for the land. Their spirits will protect all people on earth. We're going to create volcanoes and they will cover the dead animals. After the volcanoes erupt, the lava will dry and that will create land. Now, the land is ready to be populated. It will always be protected from evil spirits, natural disasters, and famine. Then we will create more animals who will continue to roam the world." The young god soon understood the master plan. So the legend was told that once the animals were dead, the gods then created volcanoes. The volcanoes erupted and covered the dead animals. As soon as the lava dried, it made land (Just what the old god had said) and that's how land was created. The End |
