A long, long time ago, eagles had arms and hands instead of wings. They were also boneheads and couldn't fly. One day, an eagle saw a crow who was swooping and soaring happily. The eagle thought, 'Wow! That looks like so much fun!!' He stared longingly at the now cheering crow. Then the crow flew away and the eagle started to get hungry. He went to the ocean to catch some fish (it was very hard for the eagle to catch fish because they couldn't fly). As he walked he could feel the sand squishing through his toes. (He had a feeling that somebody was nearby.) Another strange thing was that all eagles' arms could expand to over 50 feet so that made it easier to catch fish.

He was just reaching his arms into the ocean when he heard a voice. The sky darkened and the voice said, "Crow has just come to see me. He said that you were watching him in his territory and that is against the law. You know that too." "Y-y-yes-s." said the eagle, as he started to tremble violently. He knew that if you break any law the gods would put a spell on you. "P-p-ple-ese forg-g-give m-me-e," said the eagle trembling more violently then before. "I will make a deal with you," said the god in his deep voice. "I will put the curse on you but-" "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" wailed the eagle. The god cleared his throat so loudly that all the birds fell out of the near by palm- trees. "AS I WAS SAYING BEFORE YOU INTERUPTED!" roared the god, "THAT I WILL PUT THE SPELL ON YOU, BUT if you lose the deal the curse will react!!!" By now there were no birds in the area, well, to be pacific, any animals. Before eagle could react, there was a flash of bright light. As the curse hit eagle, the god said, "You will have to find a friend by tomorrow or else!" "I take the 'or else'" said the eagle in almost a whisper. "YOU WILL DO YOUR END OF THE DEAL AND IF YOU FIND A FRIEND BY TOMORROW I WILL TAKE OFF THE CURSE!!!!" The voice went away and the sky lightened back to bright blue. Eagle started to look for a friend.

By nightfall, the eagle still hadn't found a friend. He was starving so he went fishing. He caught twelve fish and two of them were the yummiest kind!! They were juicy and tender. After he ate ten fish (one good one and nine that are okay) it was almost midnight, so he was really tired. He went to sleep and woke to find it past noon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then he remembered the god and his deal. He was very worried. He decided that he would just lie to the god.

He went to the ocean and the sky turned black. Then the eagle heard the gods loud booming voice. The god said, "Do you have a friend eagle?" Eagle said, "Yes, I have a friend." "Well, who is it?" Asked the god. "A rabbit." Said the Eagle in a tone that would have deceived nobody. "Okay, what is his name?" The god said. "Er-er-er-er-ummm-Boggetamonalisedragletfootalikeasfluff." "Say that again more slowly?!" Said the god. "Bogeetfaridengnabthretalitomagalific." The eagle said. You can tell both names are different. "HA!!" "That was different then before!!!!" The god said, "The curse will now react." This time the eagle glowed and his arms fell off!!" The eagle was close to tears. "W-wh-h-y di-i-i-d y-yo-ou d-d-oo t-that-tt-t?" He said. The next day the eagle was gasping for hunger because he had no weapons! He tried swimming, but he nearly drowned. He tried sticking his feet in the water, but he didn't have long enough legs.

Then he met other gods and they said, "You look starved little one." "Cough-Yes," said the eagle. "I will give you the ability to fly, eagle." "YA MEAN IT?!!!!" said eagle. "Yes," said god. "You will have to have a friend by tomorrow and if you do the curse will react." The god said. By the next day (even though he almost died of hunger) he had a friend rabbit named Boggetamonalisedragletfootalikeasfluff!!! He went to the place where he met the god and the god was delighted!! The light surrounded the eagle and he grew wings!!! He could almost feel his bones lightening and he could see the feathers growing on his body. His eye sight was getting better too!!! Somehow a thought popped into his brain: it was the thought to fly!!! Eagle's friend rabbit, was mad though. "You wanted me as a friend just so you could have wings?!" The eagle really wanted him as a friend though so he was mad at the rabbit for not understanding that he really wanted him as a friend he ate him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

From then on, Eagles could fly and they never have friend rabbits Instead, they always eat them.
