By the time a student enters
fourth grade at Laguna, an underlying foundation in reading, writing and
mathematics has been established. Fourth grade then becomes an opportunity
for the student to develop and expand his/her academic skills by:
-
Accepting more responsibility
for the completion of both classwork and homework.
-
Being exposed to an
increasingly varied selection of literature.
-
Developing a clear
connection between creative writing and the mechanics of our language.
Pupils will create, edit and publish their own stories, plays and
poetry.
-
Demonstrating a thorough
understanding of the four basic functions in mathematics: addition,
subtraction, multiplication and division.
-
Increasing their awareness
of the fragile nature of our environment.
Please feel free to wander
around our web site. You can get a feel for the fourth grade experience
at Laguna Blanca by clicking on the Parent Night PowerPoint presentation.
